The Cat's Meow is one of the two places where players can trade Mugs for Resources. Here you can trade Mugs for Rings and in Dancing Dragons you can trade for Souls. The base reward in The Cat's Meow is 50 Rings which is then multiplied by a "random" multiplier between 1 and 5x. For the longest time the base reward was 10, which was changed with patch 164 in July 2017.

It appears that the multiplier has about a 30% chance to be 1x, and probably the same for 2x, and then around 20% for 3x, 15% for 4x and 5% for 5x. These numbers are purely based on my casual observations from playing the game. If you have an active Hero Treaty your rewards will be increase by 50%.

Jewel Chances[]

Instead of using Mugs to play you can spend Jewels which receives a much higher modifier. Jewel chances reward between 2x and 20x the base reward. The first Jewel chance costs 50 Jewels and subsequent chances increase as shown below. The maximum cost is 200 per. I have tested this to 30 tries and it stayed at 200.

Chance Cost Per Round (Jewel)
1 50
2 100
3 100
4 150
5 150
6+ 200

Jewel Chance Math[]

Because it is unknown how random the multipliers are, it is impossible to do math regarding it's efficiency. I am currently testing this, I have done 40 trades so far and the average multiplier has been 4.8x. The multipliers are definitely not weighted in an even slope or curve but rather certain multipliers are far more likely than others such as 3x, 5x, 8x, and 10x.

Previously the best known method of trading Jewels for Rings was Lucky Spin whereby the best average is 1.09 Jewels per Ring. So if the 4.8x average is accurate this is actually a better value even at 200 Jewels per turn! I will be continuing further testing.

Trevi Fountain Blessing[]

There is a rare Trevi Fountain Blessing which adds 10 to your reward. This is a substantial increase, so it is highly recommended to save your Mugs for when you get this Blessing.

  • Rings and Souls are very commonly rewarded in a 1 to 100 ratio, so it is pretty easy to find value. Most players opt for Rings because they are a far more useful/impactful resource. There are also some rare occasions where Souls are priced better than Rings such as Limited Time Trading.
  • Interestingly, the owner/innkeeper of the The Cat's Meow seems to be Crackshot.
