Xaphan is an Epic Ranged Hero who is the definition of a fire mage. He is so powerful in fact that they had to make up a new Mercenary to give him instead of Wizards in order to keep other mercenaries relevant. He is the only Hero with an AoE skill that increases damage taken by enemies. The only other active skill to do so is that of The Berserker who affects the Hero with the highest HP which is a little counter intuitive to the situations in which you would normally want to increase damage taken. For a while he was one of the best means of countering enemies which high damage reduction, but it has become very common for heroes to strongly debuff that stat.

He was introduced at the same time as Hellish Hoard which should be apparent given his increased power during the event. Like many of the newest ranged heroes he attacks from an additional 50% further range which can be especially good during Hellish Hoard where he has an even greater increase to attack range but it can be costly in certain situations such as the heal of Toxic Shaman which puts him just slightly out of range in a lot of situations.

AppearanceEdit

Xaphan is a fiery demon who has recently broken free from his shackles with the chains still hanging from his wrists and the breaking point still glowing red hot. He sports a huge pair of bulls horns and a wicked looking scorpions tail. His menacing appearance is highlighted by a devious grin and large fireballs which he hurls towards his victims.

Hero SkillEdit

His active skill deals an incredible amount of damage and has the added benefit of finding the largest grouping of heroes for you. And of course like all the newest heroes his skill applies an incredibly powerful debuff. His divine skill works in conjunction with the debuff applied by his active skill and his insight skill applied extra stacks of the debuff and adds an extra effect which deals some extra AoE damage, as if he didn't already do enough, and applies stun every 5th stack of Ember.

His active skill pulls enemies stationed on Heroes Halls during base raids but not during Battle Royale, unless he destroys the Heroes Hall that they are standing on. He is the only hero to have the cooldown of his skill decrease with level, and it becomes as short as 3 seconds which is incredibly fast, the same in fact as Ambrosia but dealing way more damage. His divine skill can be tricky because it consumes all stacks of Ember which can be pretty costly but it gives him invulnerability which can be essential to keep him alive in certain situations and the powerful healing debuff can come in clutch as well.

NotesEdit

  • Getting Xaphan to high level is fairly attainable given the availability of his shards and the ability to pick him from Hero Preview, but there are currently no Evolution Essences and he costs a lot to Evolve and also requires about 70% more Ancient Spirits per level of Enlightenment so be ready to put out for him and he is definitely worth it!
